Clinical Work

"When we cannot find a way of telling our story, our story tells us--we dream these stories, we develop symptoms, or we find ourselves acting in ways we don't understand."

Stephen Grosz

As a clinician, I find my work to be a profoundly meaningful part of my personal journey. It's a reminder of how fortunate I am to have a profession that allows me to connect with my own humanity, vulnerabilities, strengths, confidence, and overall existence. The most gratifying moments of my work are those in which I witness my clients, whether they be individuals, couples, families, or larger systems, move from feelings of hurt, anger, sadness, or shame to a place of feeling loved, understood, and cared for. We all are wired for human connection (Tatkin & Hendrix, 2012), but connecting with others can be challenging. Being loved, cared for, and connected is what makes life a pleasant – or at least tolerable – and meaningful journey. I am dedicated to helping my clients be there for one another, feel safe and secure, and enjoy the happy moments while standing up to pain and sorrow on their own personal journey.
